Things To Do and Make Sure Of:
Administer worm medication a week before training
Your horse should be in good physical condition
Your horse should have sufficient weight
Have a negative coggins test results
Perform dental work on horse
Your horses hooves should be in good condition
Be prepared to give a history of your horse
When your horse begins their training it is very similar to you starting a routine fitness workout.
This is why your horse should be in good physical condition and weight. Their training workout will
cause your horse to loose weight so this should be expected, just like you expect to loose weight in
a fitness workout. The worming program is to protect our fields and other horses from worm
infestation. The coggins is a state requirement and is also to protect our other horses. The dental
work is to prepare your horse for a bit in their mouth. Having this dental work done ahead of time
will prevent any possibilities of pain or irritation that may be caused by a bit when it is first
introduced to your horse.
Since your horse will be in a training workout this is also a reason to make sure his hooves are in
good condition. Providing us with a history of your horse will assist in his training.

Remember:
Your horse will be learning
their ABC’s of the human
world. So it is important that
you follow up on his
education
